Arrow Trails: controls, powers & strategy

How to play on PC and mobile

Remove every trail by giving its arrowhead a clear straight exit to the edge. Any occupied cell in front of the arrow can block it, regardless of color. The small dot marks the tail. In 3D, solve all six faces to complete a level.

Credits to spend: exact costs

The balance above the buttons is your existing Arcade Coins wallet. These are virtual game coins, with no real-money checkout. Spending is optional and happens when you press a paid power during an active game.

Free hint−40 run score · 0 coinsHighlights one legal path. Score never falls below zero.
Radar15 Arcade CoinsHighlights all currently free routes for 6 active seconds. Does not remove anything.
Remove 330 Arcade CoinsRemoves up to three legal routes, checking after each removal. Those routes earn no points. If fewer remain, it still costs 30.
Extra life20 Arcade CoinsAdds one life, up to a maximum of 3. At zero lives it continues the same board. No refund on restarting.
30 extra seconds20 Arcade CoinsOnly in timed mode. Adds 30 active seconds; also continues a board paused by timeout. It does not restore lives.

Paid powers mark the result as assisted. Ordinary routes earn 35–55 points; a blocked move costs a life and up to 10 points. The completion bonus is up to 200 points, reduced by mistakes and free hints. A finished board records your score locally. After at least 10 active seconds, the standard final reward is 5–50 Arcade Coins; shorter cleared boards still save their score. Failed or abandoned attempts do not earn final coins. Paused or hidden time does not count.

Choose your challenge from level one

Beginner starts with spacious boards. Medium starts with larger, denser layouts. Expert gives you a dense, advanced board immediately, without waiting to unlock high levels. All three keep a valid solution and three starting lives. Level numbers and saved progress are independent for each difficulty, perspective and clock mode. Your earlier progress is kept in Beginner without the clock.

Turn on Race the clock before starting for a countdown based on the actual number of paths, perspective and difficulty. The exact seconds appear on the board. The clock stops when you pause, open Collection or hide the tab. At zero, choose an optional extension or retry free. Change settings after restarting or finishing a level.

Tips and recommendations that help

  1. Start at the edge. Find arrows pointing outwards with no route ahead; removing them opens space toward the center.
  2. Follow the entire exit lane before tapping. A bend in the colored trail does not change the straight direction of its arrowhead.
  3. Clear one cube face at a time. Use Next face when you want a clearer view instead of tapping a narrow edge.
  4. Use the free hint to learn the pattern. Save Radar for dense boards and Remove 3 for a stubborn cluster. Radar cannot be purchased again while it is active.
  5. Build a clean streak. Successful moves raise the route bonus; an invalid move breaks it. Removing paths with a paid power resets the streak and earns no route points.

Reveal a photo, face by face

Every removed trail uncovers a real portion of an original Puzzles background: landscapes, animals, gardens and space. The remaining paths keep their light outlines so you can read the board. Finishing a face reveals its full image and saves it to Collection immediately, even before the other cube faces are complete.

There are twelve collectible images. The sequence changes with the level; 2D reveals one image per level and 3D can reveal six. Repeated images remain visible but do not create duplicate collection entries. Open Collection to view or download an unlocked background.

Questions and answers

Do I need coins to play?

No. Starting, restarting, changing perspective and the daily challenge are free. Paid powers are optional; the free hint uses run score only.

What happens if my score or balance is too low?

The free hint remains available at zero score. Radar needs 15 coins, Remove 3 needs 30, and one life or 30 extra seconds cost 20. Buttons are disabled when your balance is insufficient or the action cannot be used. The price is charged once per use. Restarting does not refund powers already used.

How do the backgrounds appear?

Each removed route reveals a region of the image underneath it. Completing a face reveals its whole photo and adds it to your collection. A 2D level has one face; a cube has six independent faces. There are twelve images, reused in a changing sequence as levels continue.

How do I see the reward without the results covering it?

After a completed level has been saved, choose View discovered background. Next level stays below the board. Collection lets you revisit and download every unlocked image at any time.

Can I lose or get stuck permanently?

Every attempt starts with three lives. A blocked tap removes one life and up to 10 score points. At zero lives the board pauses: buy one life for 20 coins to continue, or retry free. In timed mode, running out of time also pauses the board; an optional 30-second extension costs 20 coins. Every generated board remains solvable.

Where is progress saved?

Completed levels are saved separately for every perspective, difficulty and clock setting. Collection and wallet are shared locally in this browser. An unfinished board restarts on leaving. Another browser or device has separate progress; clearing browser data removes these saves. There is no cloud account or online ranking.

Does the daily challenge have an extra prize?

It uses the normal score and coin rules. The board changes at midnight UTC. Share challenge includes its date, level, perspective, difficulty and clock mode. Compare time, mistakes, hints and paid aids under the same settings.
